خانواده‌ای بزرگ از درختان، درختچه‌ها، گیاهان بالارونده و گیاهان علفی که غلاف‌های لوبیا مانند تولید می‌کنند؛ برای سهولت به زیرخانواده‌های Caesalpiniaceae، Mimosaceae و Papilionaceae تقسیم می‌شود.
